Sharp has announced the first Handheld PDA with a built-in hard drive.
The new Zaurus SL-C3000 will have a 1-inch hard drive that can hold 4 GB of data.
The new Zaurus has a clamshell design but the screen can rotate and be closed over the keyboard so the device can be used like a tablet pc or regular PDA.
It has 64 MB of DRAM and 16 MB of Flash ROM, a 3.7-inch, 640 x 480 (VGA) display that supports both portrait and landscape modes.
This device will run Linux on a 416 MHz Intel XScale PXA270 processor. It has an SD card slot and a CompactFlash Type II slot, allowing the use of wireless networking cards but does not have built-in Wi-Fi.
The SL-C3000 will go on sale in Japan on November 10.
