Here we go again. Another Linux PDA is on its way. According to linuxdevices.com, a brand-new Linux-based PDA is due to hit the market this September. The new Softfield MX-7 PDA will debut at a price of $299. The new device will be similar in nature to the recent Shard Zaurus devices which also run the Linux OS. Softfield, which took over the Agenda VR3 following the demise of Agenda Computing, said it will release the entirely-new MX-7 in early Sep., 2003.

So far Linux has failed to catch on with the mainstream PDA users. Palm and Microsoft still have a grip on the larger market but who knows? Linux could grab a small share of more hardware makers would start supporting the OS. Will it happen? Stay tuned.
