Apple now requires Retina Display screenshots for app approval

Apple has notified developers that the company will now require Retina Display compliant screenshots of their apps in order to be approved. The Retina Display resolution requirement is 960x640. Apple sued by Chinese firm over iPad name

Proview Technology, a Chinese company in Shenzhen, is suing Apple over the iPad trademark. Proview is seeking an apology, and is asking a court to stop Apple from selling the iPad in China. "We ask the court to stop selling and marketing for Apple’s iPad in China. We also demand an apology,” said Xie Xianghui, a lawyer representing the Proview Technology Shenzhen. If Motorola gets its way, Apple will have to pay a royalty on iPhone and iPad sales from last year. According to the Wall Street Journal, Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc., which is being acquired by Google Inc., filed a letter it previously sent to Apple in a California court, seeking a 2.25 percent royalty on some iPhone and iPad sales. Motorola Bionic update on the way

Motorola has announced an update is on the way for the Bionic. Traditionally, updates come within a couple of weeks after Verizon publishes the changelog, and they just published it. The 5.9.902 update does add some bloatware in the form of V-Cast Apps and Amazon MP3, but it also adds stability to the Bionic. A Rhode Island attorney's BlackBerry has been seized by a court as part of an investigation. A spokesperson for the Attorney General, Peter Kilmartin, said prosecutors had a court-authorized warrant to seize the attorney's BlackBerry. Nokia announced the Lumia 800 in white yesterday, but nothing was said about a white Lumia 900. However, it appears the company accidentally revealed a photo of a white Lumia 900 on its Facebook page. Not only that, the white Lumia 900 looks to be an international phone. Although the photo is was labeled Lumia 800, you can clearly see the microUSB port on top (the 800 has a flip cover), and there is an obvious front facing camera. RIM executives touted BlackBerry's ecosystem Tuesday at BlackBerry DevCon Europe. Alec Saunders, RIM's VP for Developer Relations told the audience that there are currently over six million daily downloads from the BlackBerry App World for a total of 2 billion downloads so far.
