Palm Centro launches on Verizon

Palm Inc.'s Centro smart phone is finally launching on Verizon Wireless according to the companies. The blue Palm Centro will be available from Verizon Wireless' stores and Web site for $99 starting Friday. Sprint has offered the Centro for quite some time now but it's better late than never for Verizon.

The Palm Centro, a compact version of the Treo line of phones, is largely responsible for bringing Palm Inc. back to life in the smart phone arena. Palm's market share went from 7.9% to 13.4% after the debut of the Centro.
